A COLOR YOU CAN'T IGNORE
I am a collector of things,
I like to hide them all away.
Save them for a more deserving day,
save them for the time of my life.
Just saving for the time of my life.
I am a saver of sorts,
always buying just a little more time.
You see I won't open that door,
I'll wait for another to ignore.
Just waiting for another to ignore,
just waiting for another to ignore.
Take all your fears now,
and wrap them with your hope now.
Love like you've never loved anything before.
Paint this whole world a color you can't ignore.
Give me just a second more here,
give me just a moments more time.
I just need to open my eyes,
and let this life take me by surprise.
Let this life take me by surprise.
Take all your fears now,
and wrap them with your hope now.
Love like you've never loved anything before.
Paint this whole world a color you can't ignore.
I am the fool I hate to be,
that fearful loner at sea.
Letting every second get to me.
This worry won't let me be.
It just won't let me be,
it just won't let me be.
Take all your fears now,
and wrap them with your hope now.
Love like you've never loved anything before.
Paint this whole world a color you can't ignore.
behind the song
I am a collector of things, this is true. This song is perhaps the story of my life summed up in about 4 minutes. I came up with the idea when I found beautiful sundress in my closet. Still with the tags on it and surprisingly still in style after it had been moved probably five or six times from closet to closet for over a decade. I purchased it a long time ago in college and I was waiting for the perfect time to wear it. I can recall when I had the shoes, the accessories even an idea of how my hair would look for this very special occasion. A special occasion that never happened. This was a pattern in my life. I saved things, material things, emotions - most of all my words and my actions. Always waiting for a more deserving day to share them... It's in a way my self help song; advice that is easy to give but so hard to hear.
